Using a Browser to Connect to NVR Recorder

You can connect to the newer models of InVidia SRx NVRs via a browser.  For best results you'll want to use Microsoft Edge as your browser.

Here are a few examples of when you might want to do this:

  • In older recorders, only Internet Explorer(IE) can be used as it needs an ActiveX client to be installed.  When connecting to the NVR, it will prompt you to load the ActiveX client.  IE is no longer installed in Microsoft Windows so you must run  Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer Mode

Here's a link to on setting Microsoft Edge to run in Internet explorer mode:

  • For new recorders, installed in 2022 or later, you can use any browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Brave) to connect to the InVidia recorder.  Using the browser you can:

    • Live View, Search and Playback videos
    • Perform all administrative tasks as if you were logged into the NVR itself

  • Live View and Playback does not display the Camera Toolbar in Chrome, Firefox, Brave or Microsoft Edge.  In order to be able to listen to live audio, you MUST run Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer Mode.  See the link above on how to do this.
